Ramekin A ramekin is a small, kitchen dish, usually bowl-shaped, used for baking various dishes as well as serving desserts. Made of ceramic, this baking dish allows for both baking and subsequent freezing of dishes. The ramekin is safe for dishwasher use, microwave cooking, and storing food in the refrigerator. Like every item from Zakłady Ceramiczne "Bolesławiec", the cups are hand-decorated using stamps and brushes, making each one unique. As a result, minor differences in decoration may occur between individual pieces of the same design.D-56 decorationOne of the oldest and most classic decorations from the "BOLESŁAWIEC" Ceramic Works combines stamps in the characteristic "peacock eye" pattern with hand-painted leaves. The stamping method is a traditional technique for decorating dishes dating back to 1882, when local potters invented a decoration made using a sponge with underglaze paints in intense cobalt blue and green colors. Despite many years passing, this form of decoration remains consistently popular among contemporary enthusiasts of Bolesławiec pottery.
